Profhilo is related to the Hyaluronic range of skin fillers that are used all around the world but also has some slightly unique differences. Think of Profhilo as a super-hydrating and moisturizing formula that works inside your skin to build collagen, to hydrate, and to plump. This gives your skin an airbrushed, naturally smooth look and result.
What is Profhilo?
This latest addition to the hyaluronic family brings the highest concentrations of hydrating hyaluronic acid, or HA, at 64g/2ml. This high concentration of HA means it is the most effective product for sagging skin and promoting collagen growth in areas that need it – effectively bio-remodelling your skin.
How does Profhilo work?
This new hyaluronic product contains two forms of HA, both high molecular weight HA and low molecular HA, without the use of any cross-linking compounds. Thermal cross-linking instead is used to form co-operative hybrid complexes. Such hybrid complexes show high stability and longevity in comparison to simple H-HA or L-LA alone, giving a dual action that works particularly well for skin laxity and remodelling of the skin.
Profhilo stimulates the production in your skin of 4 different types of collagen and elastin. This stimulation results in significant tissue improvement – effectively bio-remodelling your skin from the inside out.
What areas can be treated?
The simple answer is – any part of your body that is showing signs of ageing and needs hydration and remodelling – but Profhilo is especially recommended for areas of laxity in the face where collagen and elastin stimulation are needed.
How long does the treatment take?
Typically this bio-remodelling treatment takes about 20mins in the clinic, but times can vary, depending on your individual needs. One treatment requires two sessions, preferably 4 weeks apart.
How long does the treatment last?
As with all non-permanent fillers, re-treatment to maintain your results is recommended after 6 months. However, as your body is building its own collagen and elastin in the injected areas, you should also see some lasting improvements.
