Since our last article on growing your eyelashes we had a lot of questions so we decided to answer the most commonly asked questions our clients have:

Do my eyelashes change as I age?
Yes. Just like our skin and facial structure, eyelashes change over time. As we age lashes become thinner, shorter and lighter.

How do eyelashes grow?
Eyelashes grow in a continuous cycle. On average it is estimated we have 100 to 150 lashes per lid. At any one time 41% of your upper lashes are in the active growth phase. Usually this phase lasts 1 to 2 months.

What is LATISSE® lash science?
LATISSE® topical solution is the first scientifically proven treatment that allows you to grow your natural lashes, making them longer, fuller and darker* in just 16 weeks.

How does LATISSE® work?
LATISSE® is believed to stimulate hair growth and dormant hair follicles by increasing the number of lashes in the active growth phase. LATISSE® is also thought to extend the length of this phase. This means that the lashes grow for a longer period and so become longer and thicker.

How soon should I see results?
LATISSE® helps you grow your own natural lashes. However, eyelash growth is a gradual process, so while you may notice changes as early as 4 weeks, the full effect takes up to 16 weeks to achieve. So it’s important you continue to use LATISSE® as directed.

How do I apply LATISSE®?
LATISSE® solution is applied to the upper eyelid, once nightly. Sterile disposable applicators are provided to help you apply LATISSE® correctly.

Is LATISSE® the same as other eyelash enhancement products?
No. Mascara, eyelash conditioners and eyelash extensions may enhance lashes but LATISSE® is the only scientifically proven treatment that helps grow your natural lashes.

How do I maintain my results?
Eyelash growth is a continuous process. In order to maintain your results, you should continue using LATISSE® as directed.

What if I forget to apply LATISSE®?
If you miss a dose don’t try to ‘catch up’. Just apply LATISSE® the next evening and stay on schedule from then on.

What if I stop using LATISSE®?
If you stop using LATISSE® your eyelashes are expected to abate following longer term discontinuation.

Can I use LATISSE® more than once a day?
No. Additional applications of LATISSE® will not increase the growth of your eyelashes.

Can anyone use LATISSE®?

Can I wear mascara while using LATISSE®?
Yes. Mascara will not affect your treatment.

Can I use cotton swabs or other cosmetic brushes to apply LATISSE®?
No. LATISSE® should only be used with the sterile applicators provided. These are specially designed to help you apply LATISSE® correctly so you achieve optimum results.

Should I remove my contact lenses before using LATISSE®?
As a precaution, it’s recommended you remove your contact lenses as they may absorb an ingredient in LATISSE® solution. You can put them back in 15 minutes after application.

What should I do if LATISSE® gets in my eye?
It is not expected to cause harm. Do not rinse your eye.
